What do you usually fill in each of the huge trash cans? I have the blue, green and light brown one at home. I'm just really curious because I have a bunch of recycle paper and have no clue where to put it, lol. Thanks =)

  1. In Los Angeles, green is for grass and garden clippings, black is for garbage, and blue is for recycling.

You didn't say where you live.  Can't you just call your local trash department?  In LA, we can ask any city/county question by calling 311.

  2. the inland empire : green=yard clippings..i.e,. leaves,grass,branches,etc.  brown/black=trash  and blue=recyclables i.e. paper,plastic,cardboard.

  3. Well the green cans are the weekly trash cans that the city picks up and you put trash in them.

The blue cans are for yard waste like limbs, leaves grass clippings, etc., don't put trash in these.

I have no idea what the brown ones are for and I hope someone else gives you that answer.

As for your newspapers, there are recycle bins around town. they used to have them at all the Hy-Veers, but they have been moved. you can call the city street department and they will tell you where they are. Find the nuber in the Blu Pages under City of---Waterloo.
