What's the main difference in personality between Light and Near in Death Note?

Who do you prefer and why?

I prefer light because i think he really did the right thing when using the death note to clean the world from criminals(if you ask me,the world really needs it...)

And light was really amazing planning all that,he knew every small thing that's going to happen(except for the end of course) like killing his own girlfriend to prove that he is not kira.

i prefer light because he is the main character and near is creepy

and i cant stand the way he plays with toys

Light. Like what the other person said: Near is sorta creepy. He looks like this kid that plays with toys. Meanwhile, Light is cool. Evil but smart. (sigh) I always prefer the main characters.
