I played with my hamster ever since i bought it, so I was used to it and it never bit me. but after four months when i was trying to take him from its cage, it bit me twice painfully. It usually had another hamster with it in the cage, but i separated them because this big hamster that bit me always bully and hurt its companion. I'm scared with my hamster and am planning to free it in the yard though I still want to kep it if possible. Please help!

  1. DON'T RELESE INTO THE GARDEN !!

you'll never see it again !!!!!!!

see if it happens again before you start jumping to conclusions. If it keeps happening again and again then ask the vet to check up on it and make sure it's all ok then ask him about his behavior.

Good luck and please don't relase him into the garden, if anthing give him to the rspca i don't know what the american one is... like an animal shelter, or hospital or something.

  2. this may be due to u handleing to much or it could be his way to get back at u for getting another hampster so i would suggest seperating the hampsters so they cant even c each other and if its becuz u handle him to much feed him some food from ur hand and try not to pick him up to much some hampsters dislike being held for long or even short periods of time.

  3. You might have scared the hamster or handled food recently and the hamster smelled the food on you. He may not have wanted to be picked up either.  Hamsters can get cranky just like us at times.

Give him some time to settle down especially if he is in a new cage.  They need several days to adjust to a new environment.

Don't release your hamster into the wild.  It's not something you should be doing.  You don't put a domesticated pet into the wild.  The chance of it surviving is pretty low.  Put it up for adoption if you decide you don't want  him anymore.

  4. its ok all hamsters bite and to heal your hamsters bite try to squeeze all the blood out if theres any blood coming out coz the hammie might have rabies
