  1. "s***w the big corporations! I am free, man! They don't own my soul! Tyler Durden! Tyler Durden! Isn't my Che shirt cool? Who was he anyway? Intense!

Now excuse me while I enjoy this Coca-Cola and listen to a s*x Pistols CD from a small company called Warner Bros. Records."

At least 99% of the time. I understand s***w-the-establishment sentiment (especially when the establishent is defined by war-mongering, nature-hating, human rights-ignorning monsters such as George W. Bush and Sarah Palin), but punk is SO commercial. Most of the tme it just doesn't feel real to me. Way it is.

  2. punk is awesome. enough said.

  3. DIY ethic

i.e. Do It Yourself state of mind

Standing up for what you believe and never backing down are also important.

  4. Talentless ramblings about being frustrated and alienated to three chords repeated over and over...it's lowest common denominator music really!

  5. Punk is yes, rebellious. But NO it's not stupid. I can understand punk being somewhat a part of soul. Punk is so great to have around when I feel angsty and the most band are quite intelligent and do not waste their time writing dumb music, like ALOT of c**p out there today. They use their time and effort telling us about how screwed up of a nation we are. I agree. I LOVE YOU PUNK GENRE! :) Go you crazy libertarians! :D

  6. Rebellious,

    or stupid.

  7. Maybe in other countries it was more of a political statement.  But out here (the states) it seems to be all about the music.

But to me, punk is about thinking for yourself and not buying into what's being shoved down your throat.  Whether it's music, politics, social standards, etc.

Green mohawks are nice, but it's whats inside of that head that makes the difference.

  8. Energy. That's it.

    Messages are secondary.

  9. Gabba Gabba We Accept You We Accept You One of Us...

It's a place where the angry, the alienated, the ugly and the outrageous all share one love of fast-driven music.
