I'm planning to buy an Amtrak's North America Rail Pass for my december-january holiday, but I see this text on Amtrak's site:

"The pass may be used for a maximum of four one-way trips on any given leg."

What's this "given leg" means?

Thanks

  1. A 'leg' is a stretch of railway track. For example, if there's a train going from New York City to Orlando, Florida, that would be one leg. I think that clause you mentioned would mean that you can go from one point to another four times, meaning essentially that if you start from New York City and go to Orlando, coming back would count at one leg as well. So you can go to any place and back twice, as if they are round trips. I hope that helps.
