I don't know the first answerer but the answer to your question is as an avionics, one must not be colorblind. Since avionics doesn't work like A&P's more and more women avionics workers are being hired.

Im afraid to say, with the many airline companies preferably choose Males as they have the "mental" and "physical" strength.

I say this because if they have a female and male onboard things may result in things that are not meant to happen. This is not anything about Sexist its just for example: If there is a Female and a Male with the same degree and rating. The company will 98% go for the Male. its just one of those jobs..

like for example if a female applied for a building site as one of the brick layers and a Male applied the same time, they will go for the male, no?

Legally, they can't discriminate. You'll find that there are not preferences...just that women do not generally apply for such jobs.Tthe physical requirements are not that strenuous. I rarely have to lift anything over 60lbs and the machinery we operate does most of the "men" work.

It's annoying how ppl generalize on "what they know"...which is actually quite little until you get the guts to step into the industry.

You have to be sharp, there are a LOT of hazards...studies actually show women are better at multi-tasking. However, you do not have to be a friggin' genius to work the line or even ATC.

Stay away from drugs and alcohol, obesity is frowned upon, etc, etc...having all of your limbs is probably a plus.

h**l, the restrictions for flight attendants is stricter that it is for most any other job in aviation.
