Most will hire at 18 years old but some will accept volunteers at 16.  Good luck.

most daycares will not hire anyone unless they are 18 and have a high school diploma or equivilent.  Occusionally you will find a center that will hire you as an add without education.  Some daycares will hire at age 16 during the summer.  You can do things then such as clean or walk children to the restroom.  I know that in the state of VA there is a law that says you have to be 18 to be left alone with a group of children.
