  1. it varies by event, putting safety first.  Some events would not be safe for younger people to participate in because muscles may not have finished forming and their bodies may not be able to handle the stress.

  2. It varies by event

  3. i heard you must be 16 with in an olimpic year - which means u cud be 15,

but some divers and swimmers have een younger, i thing us rits have a diver thats 14, so i elieve diving and swimming have no limist, i think it changes event by event

  4. Minimum for any event is 16

  5. There are no age limits for the Olympics per the IOC.

The governing world body for the sports make the rules and the age limit is one of the rules.

Gymnastics is the athletes must be 16 by the end of the current year.

Swimming and Diving have no age limit.

    Hope this helps.

  6. I believe that it varies by sport, since the various international federations set the rules for participation.  I have heard on a TV story that there was a dispute involving the Chinese women's gymnastics team having a member or two being underage (in this case, the minimum age being 16).  I believe that it was more of a case of sour grapes.
