  1. Check with your Labour Department.  They'll give you the precise answer.

Here's a search link that'll give you some idea.

  2. As far as I am aware. This is for the UK and Europe of course. You must by law take 20 mins every six hours. You cannot miss this time out and leave work 20 mins earlier. This was passed over to us by the europian court last year.

  3. it should be 45min to the 1 hour

  4. Half an hour. Thats what I used to get when I worked full time.

  5. it usually depends but i would say that it should be aprox thirty mins

  6. I'm not sure if it varies from state to state (US), but I work 8 hours (scheduled 8.5). I get two 15 minute breaks (paid) and a 30 minute lunch (non-paid).

  7. I think it might be different in each state but in New York its 30 minutes.

  8. when I worked for such companies as Morrisons and Card Warehouse, during a 9hr shift, we would have 2 paid 15min coffee breaks and 1hr unpaid for lunch.

  9. It is quite common to have a half hour break but if it is a 9 hr shift, and only gets 1/2 hr.  There could be overtime unless the job is considered seasonal.

There were many more protections at least for women until some of the Civil Rights and then they took out many of the protections for lunches and breaks.

I'd normally guess a full hour if a 9 hr shift, but when it is seasonal employment or part-time, they may be able to get by with 4 day 10 hr shift with a half hr lunch with no overtime even if not seasonal.

  10. under the h.s rules you are alowed half a hour  un paid lunch

  11. Not sure where you live,

But around here, we normally work 7.5 hrs a day. Half an hour is given by employer for two coffee break (payable by employee). Half hour is for lunch (non payable).

So basically we spend 7 exact hours at work, 7.5 hrs payable, 30 minutes for lunch, 30 minutes for two coffee breaks.
