What's the minimum tattoo age with parental consent?

I went to this tattoo parlor in Vegas and they said 16. I live in California. What is the minimum age someone can be to get a tattoo? Oh and at somewhere clean and that has a good reputation. Thanks!

It depends on where you live. It could be anywhere from 14-16. Where I live, its 16.

In California, it's 18, no matter what. There's a few states like that.

Better to wait until you're legal - you'll likely be done growing at that point, too.

It depends on the shop. Some places absolutely will not tattoo a person unless they're 18 even if that person has parental permission. I got my first tattoo when was 15-16, my mom was with me and we went to the best (cleanest, professional, skilled artists) place in town.

here in NYC is 18 but some shops will tattoo you at 17 is ur parents sign the consent
