I always loved sitting by the river in Oxford and it was my home town. Never really wanted to stay anywhere I visited.

Egypt and the Valley of the Kings, and the Pyramids, and  The Temples at Karnak and Luxor, . Amazing all of it. Then after that, I'd have to say, Abu Simbal

Semi-desert, but an unbelievable amount of wildlife, and since it's quite remote, not very busy with people either.
