What's the most amount of money you've ever found?

A few years ago I found a ladies purse in some toilets in York England.  It had £120.00 in folded twenty pound notes.  I took this to local police station and about a week later had a short note to say it had been claimed!   No 'thank you' or anything...   Makes you wonder if honesty is always the best policy...

I found £50 pounds in 1974 in a telephone box. Which turned out to be a family of fours holiday spending money.  So probably equivalent to £300 nowadays.

When I was a young fella, I was walking up the Slievefelim Mountains with my Mother and I found about 200 Hundred Punts blowing in the wind. Reckon the IRA had hiding money up there. No idea what happened to the money but I didn’t see any of it.

I once found a £10 note in a pocket of my handbag.  Great surprise because I was skint at the time!!!

Also I once found a £1 coin in the slot on a shopping trolley. : -- D
