  1. The last mile up Mount Mitchell.

  2. Walking my bike a mile, about half of that up the steep hill I just careened down, suffering a broken R collarbone at the bottom when my handlebar clipped a sapling.......then riding it a mile back to the parking lot over dirt paths.    I cant imagine doing laundry with a bike.  I have done groceries and thats not too bad unless the bag you have breaks and the can of cheese dip rolls under the bushes as happened to me a cpl weeks ago......

  3. I was riding to Harpers Ferry, WV from DC...a 70 mile ride and a friend of mine crashed and got driven out...I hade to carry his bike the last 20 miles.  That was pretty hard.

  4. I once went a 70 mile ride through the Scottish highlands and I bit off more than I could chew. I had my saddle bags packed with a lot of junk that I didn't need and it was like pulling a truck and I seriously considered dumping my bike and getting a bus home. At the end of it I felt physically ill and I've never made the same mistake again.
