What's the most energy efficient setting for a thermostat?

During summer, what temperature should my thermostat mostly be at? Also while we're not at home or sleeping what temperature is the most efficient. Thanks.

  2. A constent holding of a set temp is best.  Turning down then having to run the temperature up uses more than holding a set temp.
