We were planning to travel to Europe next year in November, but were shocked at the price of airfare.

We will be landing in Amsterdam.

  1. The cheapest way will be to get in on a good fall sale fare, and for that, sign up with http://www.farecompare.com/fare-search/y...

Also check out http://www.cheapflights.com/flights-to-s... -- which shows best offers from consolidators (which most likely will not drop) as well as best offers from airline sales (which most likely will drop as fall approaches).  Farecompare gives you a good overview of prices to expect.  If you get an alert for less than what the consolidators are offering, then you can book with confidence.  $650r/t total for this trip would be stellar--considering the state of fuel surcharges--but $750-$850 might be more realistic expectation for this trip.

  2. Booking early and shopping around for flights can save you alot of money, but it is generally always going to be really expensive, d**n gas prices....I would look at some of the sites that compare flights from alot of different airlines. Me and my friends usually save some money with layovers, which tend to not be as bothersome as long as you pick a layover or two in an airport that doesn't completely suck.

  3. go with air transat

they upgraded their planes and now they are beautiful!!

you may have to land in brussels, but that is just a 1/2 drive from holland!

    have fun!

  4. Get two pedestal fans and tie them up on ur backs..

  5. i would say that you might want to check out this site http://www.ytbtravel.com/travelperfect and sign up for their deals and steals and you might find something good

  6. Yep, it's expensive lately.  The general rules are:

Be flexible with your dates.  November is a good time.  Consider flying mid-week.

Look at fares for nearby airports and consider if driving there is worth the time/money.

    Book well in advance.

  7. Wish you had said where from

Probably the cheapest airline over the Atlantic is Icelandair. There is a short stop, usually about 2 hours at Keflavik.

They fly to Baltimore. If that fits then Google will take you to their website.
