Question:

What's the most inexpensive way to connect my iPod to my car (read the description!)?

I have a 2002 Mercedes-Benz C240 and all it came with is a tape player (and radio of course). My problem is my dad bought me a Griffin tape adapter and it was not built for a dual deck. The pin head was meant for "mono" and I guess the fact that the tape is not a dual deck tape make a difference; therefore, I can only hear my music on the right hand side rather than both sides (hence, mono meaning one). I obviously know that I need the "Stereo" input. (Sorry if my description is a bit confusing - I myself am somewhat confused). :P I want a device that will eliminate static and white noise when I connect my iPod. I do not want to use the radio as a source either. What are my best options??

  1. go to bestbuy and get a fm modulator, you will have to take the stereo out to install it but does have very good quality sound or you can just get a new head unit that is ipod compatible

  2. You know I bought a similar device at Walmart. I think it was a Panasonic brand, but it plays on all the speakers in my car. It just plugs into the headphone jack. Yeah the cord is annoying, but it plays through the car's stereo speakers and sounds better than a FM transmitter. Also it's cheaper. (It was only $10, so it's not a total waste, and you can pick them up right in the store.) I'm sure it would say if it was mono or dual-deck on the package.

  3. this is not inexpensive

but it is the best way bes sound for Mercedes and the steering wheel controls  will be use to play the ipod
