Question:

What's the most offensive product you've seen marketed to a tween / p*****n?

As in, girls aged about 6-12. Ever see any products such as clothing, beauty aides, provocatively dressed dolls, or other items that are completely inappropriate for tween consumers? I'm performing a study on the tween marketing phenomena and sexualization of young girls. Anything that objectifies girls or affects body image.

If you can provide a description and a website where I can find the item that would be great.

Thank you =)

  1. There was a bunch of news articles last year about thongs and panties for tweens with wildly inappropriate sayings.

I think the Bratz dolls are actually for much younger girls but I saw a Bratz Arabian Nights playset -- um, harem girls?  I also found a Bratz "english pub" disguised as a "juice bar."

The Miss Bimbo website is up pretty high on the list but I think the majority of players are older and they just used the "we're focused on the tween market" to fuel outrage and get traffic.

  2. Ithink the worst object sold towards a tween is Brittany Spears and the like. Those objects state that selling yourself works and is a good idea.

  3. bratz dolls are pretty S****y.

  4. The most inappropriate influence on girls that age are their trashy big sisters.
