  1. "If there is any secret to this life I live, this is it: the sound of what cannot be seen sings within everything that can. & there is nothing more to it than that."

    -a card by Brian Andreas

  2. there are millions of profound things that have been said; you can't pick out one that's the "most profound."

  3. "To be, or not to be: that is the question:

    Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer

    The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,

    Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,

    And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;

    No more; and by a sleep to say we end

    The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks

    That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation

    Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;

    To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;

    For in that sleep of death what dreams may come

    When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,

    Must give us pause: there's the respect

    That makes calamity of so long life;

    For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,

    The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,

    The pangs of despis'd love, the law's delay,

    The insolence of office and the spurns

    That patient merit of the unworthy takes,

    When he himself might his quietus make

    With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,

    To grunt and sweat under a weary life,

    But that the dread of something after death,

    The undiscover'd country from whose bourn

    No traveller returns, puzzles the will

    And makes us rather bear those ills we have

    Than fly to others that we know not of?

    Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;

    And thus the native hue of resolution

    Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,

    And enterprises of great pitch and moment

    With this regard their currents turn awry,

    And lose the name of action."

  4. "when you wish with something all your heart, you're saved up wishes start coming out"

    Two very profound things said about war:

    I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

    Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955)

    You can no more win a war than you can win an earthquake.

    I think a lot of people in this world can do a lot of good for others if they'd only take a chance and try to find something they can help with.  Money isn't always necessary to improve a life.

  13. Honey, you have a wishbone were your backbone should be!

    I started standing up for myself at that moment and going after what I wanted.

    My backbone is much stronger than my wishbone ever was.  We truly do teach people how to treat us.  Don't tolerate it and it stops.  It is OK to tell the boss what you are capable of and what you think can be changed for the better.
