  1. I don't know about north Houston area, but there's Cascadas Restaurante located on Westheimer.  Great patio area!!

  2. Like flipflop said, North Houston isn't the place to go for romantic mexican dining.

I think El Tiempo on Richmond near Buffalo Speedway at night might be the most romantic I have been to. They have a tenderloin fajita plate (basically a several dollar upgrade from the standard fajitas)  that is unlike any fajitas you have ever had.

I think Cafe Adobe on Westhimer in the River Oaks area has the best mexican patio in Houston -- its on the second floor, plus, its in a non ghetto part of town so the people are cool, plus, and its large and inviting, lots of couches and tables, plus plus.

  3. These aren't in North Houston, but they're fairly romantic.

    1.  Hugo's on Westheimer

    2.  Cyclone Anaya's on Woodway

    3.  Las Alamedas on I-10 and Bingle

Berryhill Baja Grills are scattered all over Houston and they usually have good patio areas.  On the weekends, esp. the one on Montrose, they are fun hotspots, but not really romantic.

  4. Most Mexican food restaurants are not what I would consider romantic.  Most are very loud.

There is a Cafe Adobe in the Woodlands just off of I-45.  It has a nice patio area.  The restaurant is set back from the road by a large parking lot area, there aren't alot of other buildings around the restaurant, and the patio has alot of greenery shielding it so you don't feel like you are right off the freeway.

Plus.... they have a GREAT margarita!
