Difficult to say without a picture, but here are a few that fi your description:

- Lavendar Sapphire ( Yes, Sapphires come in all colors except red...red is a Ruby...both are Corundums )

- Tanzanite ( Blue/Violet w/ a Red "flash" )

- Iolite ( watery deep purple effect )

- Tourmaline ( the most color variances of any gemstone )

- Amethyst ( Deep Purple Quartz )

- Scapolite ( can also occur in Yellow )
