What's the name of that movie..?

I am trying to locate the name of this movie that takes place i think in the early 90's or late 80's. The movie is about life in the hood, it has a scene where there is this white guy who goes around pretending that he is from the hood, and whines up getting a beat down by some black guys who I think are in a gang. Any help figuring it out will be well appreciated. thanks in advance

Well, there was a movie from '99 called "Whiteboyz" about a white kid from Iowa who tries to talk, dress and act like he's from the 'hood.  He eventually goes to Chicago to try to buy some drugs to sell back in Iowa (and I think he gets beat up at that point by some drug dealers.)  Check this site and see if its what you're thinking of:  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0178988/
