What's the name of that thing that runners lunge over?

There are 2 races with things that runners go over during the race.

One is a hurdle race, where each runner has 10 adjustable hurdles.  The hurdles will move or fall over if hit, and the races are sprints.

The other race is the steeple chase, and the barriers are solid and do not move if hit by the runners. In this race, which is almost 2 miles long the runners are all in the same lanes and can step on or touch the barriers, there is also a barrier in front of a water jump on each lap.
