tricky question.

the act of sleeping in contacts is deemed "extended wear".  multiple brands are approved by the FDA for short courses of extended wear.  most practitioners agree that the safest ones to occasionally sleep in are made of silicone, and the higher the oxygen transmission, the better.  a few that i know are FDA approved for extended wear:

acuvue oasys (up to 6 nights), purevision (up to 30 nights), night & day (up to 30 nights), and others

be careful, tho.  FDA approval for extended wear in a certain material does not mean its safe for YOU to do.  have to ask your eye doc if its ok for your eyes and for your Rx (FDA approval for extended wear is only in certain Rx ranges...like +2.00 to -4.00, for example)
