This description may be inaccurate and partly wrong.

A wealthy, single businessman is about to sign an important contract with an investor (?). He is having the investor over for a small visit. The problem however, is that the investor has been told that the businessman has a family. The businessman hires a woman and her daughter to make the investor believe they are his wife and daughter. Eventually he falls in love with the woman. At the end of the movie the girl finds a feather, which may suggest that the investor was an angle.

The movie is set around Christmas time.

  1. best place to ask is on www.imdb.com, in the "need to know" section

  2. Borrowed Hearts (1997 TV movie)

aka Borrowed Hearts: A Holiday Romance

    IMDb synopsis:

Kathleen (Roma Downey) is a hard-working single mother, who's saving to buy a house for herself and her daughter, Zoe7 (Sarah Rosen Fruitman). Sam (Eric McCormack) is a businessman who has to pretend he has a family in order to close a deal with the mysterious Javier Del Campo (Hector Elizondo). Sam owns the company that Kathleen works for and, as her boss, manages to convince her to help him. But Del Campo is more than he seems, and it just might be Zoe who's making the real deal to get a new home for herself, her mother, and Sam.

This airs during the holidays on Lifetime, where I've watched it several times. Usually, I don't care for most made-for-Christmas movies, but this has a lot more going for it than most.
