  1. Each state has it's own name. You could try goggling it with the state that you are from.

  2. depending on the state. i dont know about any other. but in Vic. if your studying  ( i think its can be if your working too)  go to centrelink and ask to speak to the JET officer. Job Education & Training officer. hope thats a big help. it was for me...

  3. that is usually through the department of social services.

    Get more info at

  4. in pennsylvania it's child care information services and you can access their information on the department of public welfare's website.

try looking up your state's department of public welfare website. subsidized day care is sometimes done through DPW for people receiving welfare, but in some states there is a program for lower-middle class workers. that's what child care information services is for in pa. you could also do a search for subsidized child care + the state you live in.

also, a lot of states are moving toward state funded preschool programs for people who make too much to send their kids to head start. in pa, it's called PA Pre-K Counts and the idea is that it's for families who just can't afford to send their child to preschool.

if you can't find the information on line, call your DPW office and they should be able to direct you in the right direction. also, if you can't find it, put your state up and i can help you look :)
