The aircraft carrier came in two parts and had a foam base. you had to stretch the fishing line out to the other side of the room. There was a spring launcher that sent the jet up the line, and a special little hook on top of the jet that enabled it to turn around. You sat behind the carrier with a joy stick and used it to manouever the jet back safely to land on the carrier? Thanks!

  1. doll?

  2. I could barely remember having this toy, can't think of its name, maybe from Mattel & I think mine's a F4U Corsair.

  3. That was one of the "You Fly It" toys of the mid 70's, Second generation, I believe.  I had the first generation version, only 1 year older, and it did not launch and turn, it started at a holder for the tail, at the top of the line, and was launched by pulling back on the stick to release the plane.

  4. ...and there is one brand new in the box on EBay right now with no bids at $40.00    There was also a toy that came out before it that was called "U FLY IT" that had a Cessna looking airplane and a small runway that you rolled out and a little console with a yoke that you push pulled and left/right to land the airplane on the runway. It is harder to find these days.

  5. Mattel's Flying Aces. They also had a similar Battlestar Galactica and also had different airplanes for the carrier. It originally came with a grey and blue Corsair.

  6. body guard or something
