  1. yep it's an Irish trad. flute,they're gorgeous really want one myself! They're not any harder to play than most instruments,bit tricky to get the sound right at the start..you need lessons. Good Luck!


  2. That's an Irish wood flute.

    EDIT: I've made a few attempts at learning this style of flute, though of course it isn't my main focus. I really couldn't say how hard it is, because I haven't worked with it enough for it to get any less difficult, if you know what I mean. If you play tin whistle, you may understand some of the concepts and techniques, and that isn't very difficult--I did teach myself to play that, though I haven't kept it up.

    Do you maybe have a local Irish pub where there's a circle of Irish musicians that meets for a session? They'd be the best ones to ask more about the flute, where to find one, and perhaps even lessons! Or maybe there's a music shop in your town that can guide you a bit.
