Question:

What's the name of this insect?

Please go by this link, watch the small video there (its on Youtube) and tell me what kind of insect that is. I found this insect in one village house in Taiwan. I really want to know its scientific name.

    But seriously, it looks like a very creepy centipede or a  millipede.

  10. In my opinion it's definately, definately, definately.....a

    HOUSE CENTIPEDE- which has the tenticles on both ends. Usually they are about 2" long from antenna to antenna. They kill and eat roaches.

    Keep in mind there are various species.. and there colors can vary.

  14. Its a centipede  Never saw one like that in the US. Scutigeromorpha.  I do not have species names for Taiwan.

  16. It's a house centipede that is dying, probably from an insecticide by the way its' nervous system is being affected. I've never seen one that large, but not surprising that it's a tropical species. I can't give you an accurate species name but the Genus would be Scutigera.

    They're beneficial in that they prey upon smaller insects that inhabit your home.

    That video bummed me out, the centipede was hating life big time. :(

    Edit: Even more bummed now that I clicked on harry_the_terry's link. Humans are cruel.
