What's the nearest tram station from Urban Central Backpackers in City Rd,Southbank?

Is southbank a great area to stay for tourists? :)

There are trams all around that area, it just depends on where you want to go.  From City Road you can easily walk into the city.  

Southbank is a terrific place to stay, lots of activity, and close to the city and sights.

Probably any tram that goes down St Kilda Rd and stops at Southbank / Arts Centre.

Trams are not like trains which only have stops at special stations every km or so. Trams generally stop near every main intersection and sometimes in the middle of a long block.  Just walk east along City Road to Clarendon Street - there will be a stop near the intersection of the two roads.

And Southbank is very handy to everything and has great dining out places.
