What's the nicest thing (you can remember) you've ever done for somebody else?

Be it help, a Random Act of Kindness, making someone's day, smiling at someone, etc.

For me in terms of doing, it's been paying for the person behind you at the drive-thru, giving food/money for the poor overseas whenever visiting, helping lost people find their way and remembering what some close people say they want but can't afford in my mind and buying it for them for their birthday/Christmas presents and leaving it as anonymous (when I'm in a feud with them).

What are some of yours? Interested to know your stories.

  1. i volunteered at a senior community center on y lunch break a few times.

gave a homeless guy a big meal.

i volunteered from the 7th grade until my senior year at an elementary school as a tutor and translator.

i feel great helping others without needing to get anything in return.

  2. i was at a grocery store a few months ago and i saw a woman crying in one of the isles, so i walked up to her and gave her a big hug and asked her what was wrong, and she had just broken up with her fiance, so i held her and comforted her the whole time she was shopping, and when we parted she said thank you so much and had the biggest smile i had ever seen as she walked to her car. thats the nicest thing ive done to date, other than that i help out homeless people i give money and food and sometimes give them shelter for a few days.

  3. One of mine was, my ex broke up with me and i was trying my best to get her back (now 6 months on I know it was a waste of time) i walked 4 miles to her house to find she had gone out already. So then i walked all the way back to have her ring me again a few hours later apologizing. So once again i went back up. At the time I was blindly in love with her and would have done anything for her. Pity she didnt see my enthusiasm!

Moral of that story, only go the extreme if they want you back. I wasted my time, she got off with another boy a month later.

I guess thats nice. Ive done a few more things but I cant think really.

  4. We had this huge project and my friend didn't have a computer.

So I spent like 3 hours typing all her stuff for her.  Ended up staying up until midnight to get mine done afterward.

  5. I gave my girlfriend what she wanted

  6. I've given homeless people money.  A few times I've seen the same person and have given him $20.  Not a fortune, but more than he was used to receiving from people.  My friend told me I shouldn't do that, but I can't just overlook people.

I've also loaned money to friend throughout the years with no expectation of receiving it back.  I believe it's our job in this world to help those less fortunate anyway we can.

P.S.  My friend & I were driving home from the bar in January when he got a flat tire.  Roadside assistance would have taken 3 hours to arrive (this was at 2:30 in the morning after the bars closed).  So I said, "Okay, I'll be the man in this situation."  The temperature was 0 degrees and the wind chill was -15.  So with no hat or ear muffs or gloves, I changed his flat tire.  He was appreciative and later bought me the 25th Anniversary Edition to my favorite movie, 9 to 5.
