  1. In the wild, lionesses usually reach between 12 and 15 years of age. Males do not live as long, usually between 8 and 10, since they will be ousted from the pride by invading males when they begin to age, and have a hard time surviving by themselves without a territory.

    In captivity, lions can live to 25 or even older.
