  1. I think Antonio Tarver started boxing pro at 29. Provided you're a good amateur you could turn pro in your late 20's.

Starting from scratch I'd say 23 (that's when Marciano started).

Matt Skelton was in MMA and kickboxing before he became a boxer at the age of 35.

  2. 78

  3. You know what there isn't and are if you have the courage and determination you can fight as long as you want. Back in the 50's and 60's guys with good skills could fight long into their 40's. George Forman won the heavyweight title at 40 and Bernard Hopkins is 40. Nate Campbell the lightweight champion is actually a grandfather so you dont have too start boxing at 5 years old to become any good. Sometimes the guys that started so young and have 100's of fights by the

time they are 25 they have more wear and tear than an old man look at Fernando Vargas he became world champion at 19 now his is like 28 and his boxing career is done.

SKILL IS IMPORTANT IN BOXING THAN AGE

  4. There is no age limit, The heavyweight division is so void of talent that anybody with a hard punch and a bit of training would have a chance to make some money.

Welterweight to Lightheavyweight most of them start at like 17, I dont know of too many fighters that have done well starting late at those weight classes. Its too talented.

  5. The boxer who started the latest that i know of is Matt Skelton, he started at 35, he is a decent boxer, another one is Hasim Rahman, started at 20, he is pretty good too...
