Question:

What's the penalty for overtaking during yellow flags?

I guess they didn't spot it during the race because surely they would have given him a drive through or something. But doesn't something like this usually warrant some sort of penalty instead of just a warning?

  1. I didn't see that. But normally a drive through penalty will be given. Or a 10 second stop and go penalty. I've forgetten which

  2. usually its a stop-go penalty but he was out before they could implement it - thats why he only got a warning

  3. a stop go penalty

  4. I know it used to be a stop-go penalty. I believe now-a-days it is probably a drive through, which is slightly better.

  5. If a driver knows he has done it and lets the other driver go by again, its nothing. But if ignored it can be a stop/ go pit penalty. If ignored completely and not known about until after a race a pit stop amount of time ( approx 25 sec) is added on to the faulty drivers finishing time. This happened to Scott Speed in the 2006 Australian GP, he overtook DC under yellows and apparently finished 8TH but later found out by steward after race and 25 second penalty added, costing Speed the only world championship point he would of earned. (8 TH place going to Coulthard).

  6. He got away with that lightly it would appear.

  7. none if youre carefull about it
