What's the penalty in Mexico for growing weed for personal use?

Does anybody know what mexican law says about growing for personal use, and if they enforce it?

As usual, Fox "so-called" News was wrong. Ex-President Fox caved into pressure from the US and Bush. The law legalizing small amounts of drugs in Mexico was never passed.

Mexico is in the middle of a large scale drug war. If you are a foreigner and get caught growing weed in Mexico you will get a very heavy sentence. Why even try it?

Yes, they enforce it, and you're asking in the wrong place.  Try YA's mexican website.  I know it's mostly in Spanish, but they speak English as well, so you can ask in English.  Just don't be surprised if the cops show up.
