  1. Isn't the highest score u can get is a 9.7

  2. your rite...  UM... yeah... jenny c is rite..

  3. The new system is based on two separate panels of scores. The A panel judges the requirements, difficulty, and connections of a routine. The scoring starts at zero and then adds points accordingly. The B panel judges the execution of a routine, and the scoring starts at 10 with points deducted accordingly for execution and for any applicable violations such as stepping out of bounds or being over the time limit. The two panels are then added together for the final score. Fans will now see good scores such as 15.75 instead of 9.5. A very good score will range in the 15s and 16s.and up beyonhd 17 as high as they can accumulate.  At the United States championships in May, Liukin nailed her performance and scored a 17.1, the highest score by any gymnast from the United States since the system changed. She said she expected to score even higher at the Olympics. I cannot find a reference to scores of the Chinese women other than their A scores being really high in the 7.3 range. 4. The new perfect score is a 17.  It is kind of confusing, but the article I read is a good one by Dominique Dawes, a former USA gymnast.
