Question:

What's the perfect trip to florence?

I'm planning on surprising my parents with a trip to florence. How long would they need for a full appreciation of the city? I stayed for a few nights some years ago but they're greater art lovers than I am so would probably need longer.

Also, is there anywhere they could go that's nearby? I know tuscany is famous for wine so can anyone recommend a trip somewhere in the countryside that they could go on and how long would they need? Thanks

  1. Heyyy i'm from Florence! Firenze.

If they want to go out of town and experience the countryside with the wine and all, i say you should go to chianti.

It is pretty neat, they take you down into old cellars .. .i think thats what they are called in english. where they keep the old wine.

you should walk up to the duomo and see the frescos on the walls, beautiful.

Also you could go to the UFFIZI , thats where Botticelli's "Venus" is... if they are into that they can do that.

It may take them like 5 days to do all that, but a bit rushed...

    i say a week atleast.

    Have fun

  2. from experience would say 5 nights is usaly enough time in florence its self. then may be a short trip out into the tuscon hills maybe san giomano.

would recomend a hotel in centre of florence although it has been several years since i last stayed there,  name of hotel  is DELLE NAZIONI in centre of florence and friends stay there regularly and say it is still very good value for money
