  1. He's the son of the Queen!  She didn't believe in abortion, and decided not to give him up for adoption.

    WTF!?

  2. When he grows up he can be a potato like his dad

  3. Whats the point of any of us?

  4. No, he is not a waste of space. The Earl and Countess of Wessex carry out a full schedule of Royal duties on behalf of the Queen, receiving civil list monies from the Queen of £141,000 per annum. The Earl has, in recent years, succeeded to many of the roles of his father, the Duke of Edinburgh, who is reducing some of his roles, owing to his age. The Earl replaced him as President of the Commonwealth Games Federation (since 2006 its Vice-Patron) and opened the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Malaysia. He has also taken over the Duke's role in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme (which is very fitting given the understanding that he will become the Duke of Edinburgh upon the death of his parents).

  5. 1) You never know how many spares you may need. Also, all of the children of the Queen are entitled to princely styles. I would imagine the public would find it odd if only Charles was a prince and the rest were untitled.

    2) He's "for" what most other people are born for (not many people have a reason for being born), except that he represents the Queen on occasion because he is available as her son.

    3) He used to run a production company but it was seen to conflict with his status as a royal. He now represents the Queen when she is not available. His duties are detailed here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Edwa...

    4) Edward is paid from a Parliamentary Annuity which is paid back to the Privy Purse by the Queen with income from her Duchy of Lancaster.

  6. Regicide (even on Prince Edward) is frowned upon.....
