What's the point of having a car with a convertible?

I wouldn't want to own one...but the times I've been in one I enjoyed. I actually test drove a VW bug turbo convertible....FUN FUN FUN FUN. Though it still doesn't justify buying a convertible. Gas prices to high to go out joy riding and for every day use, commutes + convertible = no fun. Stuck in traffic with the top down leaves you too open to weirdos and elements.

Its all a personal preference. Sure it weighs down the car and slows performance, but theres nothing like a beach trip with a top down.

I don't like them. I don't convertibles because they make performance worse, weigh more, do not insulate a car well, and usually are not nearly as durable. Also, they cost more and usually have a worse resale value.

I also have a really sensitive scalp and it actually hurts if I ride in a convertible on the highway.

But, if you love the sun and live in a relatively hot area, it can be quite handy.

I prefer the Audi A4, Saab 9-3, Pontiac G6, Mercedes CLK, and BMW Z4 Convertibles.

This is why I would rather have a coupe with a huge sunroof.

If you have to ask, you'd never understand, don't get one.  Stay away from motor cycles too.

They're fun. You feel so free and open, your hair blowing in the wind... aaaah.

On a warm, sunny day, you put the top down and enjoy the beautiful weather.

suppose their higher cost doesnt tell you they are much prized when to make one they have to cut off a already made hard top.

And the fact the richer you are the more likely youown all convertables
