  1. I saw one once and was expected to sign it; talk about awkward.  I guess you could think of it as a written record of visitors and entertainment that your home has had.

  2. There is no point in having a guest book.  It's idiotic.  Whoever still keeps one makes no sence.

  3. I wouln't have on in my home as I'd expect to know guests pretty intimately in order to include them in a gathering.  However if someone entertains on a huge basis it would be useful to know who attended an occasion and who did not.

Guest books are more commonly used at weddings, showers, funerals or "open" house gatherings where the hosts might not be expected to greet each guest.  I've also seen them in Cabins or home-like rentals we've used - it makes a nice connection for all the "guests" to may never know one another and never meet.

  4. wtf is a guest book? i kno i dont do it lol

  5. They are there to leave comments on the hotel/home/whatever.

  6. i think i've only seen that in movies, is that like where there's a book and you sign yourself in?  and when you leave you log yourself out?

well i think its purpose (before our high tech technology)

it was a way for inn-keepers to know who rented their rooms and when they left their stay.

Whoever has one now though probably lives in a cage! lol!

  7. I don't really know.  I'd have to say it's more like a memory book

  8. Have seen these at small hotels or bed & breakfast places or summer homes.

It's fun to read what other people write.
