What's the point of self-mutilation?

Its a way to relieve pain. Cause it hurts when they cut themselves, they feel like they are getting the pain out.

i would never do it though.

Some people can find it difficult to express inner pain and resort to causing themselves physical pain. This can help them to focus on what they feel by expressing their pain physically. Of course there are many better ways of doing this so it isn't reccommended!

there is not point but i suppose some may find it a need ...phisical.pain exes out mental pain.

It is a ART. the person is never honest why?

When you're hurting so badly emotionally, physical pain is an immediate distraction that's strong enough to quiet the mind. It's been years, but that was my experience.
