I had salad the other day, it always makes me gassy so people were asking me what was wrong and I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want to say I'm gassy! lol, but because I wouldn't say everyone thought it was really serious and I was like NO! it's not serious...it'll pass...and no one got the pass hint

  1. This situation takes two things, advance planning and a white lie.

If you know that salad makes you gassy, don't eat it with others. Looking uncomfortable is the BEST scenario since you could have had a very embarrassing "passing." And "passing" when others are eating is quite rude, it can't always be helped, but in this case you were aware of the affects.

In the future if you do feel gassy and are asked about it, simply say, "I pulled a muscle in my stomach lifting something yesterday and it is still a bit uncomfortable." Avoid saying that you feel ill since it will either make the hostess feel bad that she may have poisoned you or will put other people off of their meal.

  2. You don't have to tell them your gassy, just tell your stomach is doing flips or something and leave it at that. Also you should really try beano or gasx, I used to get gassy when I ate certain things but I take beano now and it helps.

  3. Short and sweet - my reply would be "The salad I had for lunch didn't agree with me." or "I like salads but they don't always like me." That's what I say whether it's gas, indigestion, heartburn or whatever and no one has ever questioned me further, thank goodness.

  4. I'd say I need to be alone for a second, then go out side or to the bathroom and well let it pass

  5. Excuse me, I suffer from indigestion.

  6. I've heard two funny, yet polite ways to say it... you can say I have to fluff, or I have to squeek. It's odd, but at least they will find it more funny. You could've told them that you had an upset stomach, and left it at that.

  7. I think your error was not in explaining what was wrong to begin with.  If the word gassy makes you uncomfortable just say you have an upset stomach.  Explain to people that salads upset your stomach and that you know that it will pass.

It is when you are obviously behaving in an abnormal way and offer no reason for this that people are going to pester you and want more information.

  8. f**t proudly.

  9. if they don't get the hint, take them into a small room and let'r fly

  10. Just say I'm a little rumbly in the tumbly today and leave it at that.

  11. Excuse me while I rip a big one. Great salad.

    Just kidding.

  12. Keep an anti-acid like Gas-X or Tums in your pocket. Take one of these before you eat something that typically bloats your stomach. Then you won't have to apologize or explain your condition.

  13. I always say, I have air.

  14. Tell them your lunch did not agree with you and you're a bit sick to your stomach. I guess you could also say you are bloated. That covers it.
