I'm going to school there in the fall and trying to figure out a budget. How much is a cup of coffee? A sandwich from a deli? A simple meal from a restaurant? I'll be doing some cooking in my apartment, but the rest of the time..? How much is a beer in a pub on the weekend? What's the average cover price at the door? Thanks!!

  1. Most places in u.k. the coffee is $4.00 - $5.00 per cup, that would be Costa or Starbucks.

  2. London is a pretty expensive place to live, although prices do vary quite a lot.

For coffee, probably over £1, up to about £4 if you go to a popular chain.  Deli sandwich would probably be around £4 or 5, or more in some places.  Pre packaged sanwiches are usually £2 to £4.  A main course in a restaurant can cost anywhere between £6 (very basic places) and £20+ (very fancy places).  Beers usually cost over £3 for a pint...some places you will find cost about £5!  For nightclub entry quite a lot are free before about 11pm, then they can charge anything from about £4 up to £20 or maybe more.

If you want to look at some restaurant menus www.toptable.co.uk have a good selection of resturants plus menus so you can get an idea or prices.
