  1. M16A4 or M4A4, it fires a 5.56NATO round. It has a 2 modes of fire, semi-auto and 3 round burst. It looks just like the M16A2 but the major different feature is the removable carrying handle.

  2. The primary assault rifle for the USMC is the same as all other branches, the M16A2, which is being transitioned over to the M4.  The US military has largely had a standard weapon since the second half of the 20th century.  It cuts down on logistics and supply issues as well as costs since buying a million of one weapons is cheaper than buying 200,000 units of five separate weapons.

It really wasn't until the beginning of the Vietnam war, however, that the entire military finally began to get on the same page.  For the most part, the M1 Garand and then the M14 were the standard issue weapons for the military.  Then, when the M16A1 was unveiled by Eugene Stoner, the government had the painfully obvious thought of "one military, one weapon."  Today, we see this in the M4 carbine.

  3. M16-A4 there are alot better Rifles out there though.

  4. Hopefully rifles designated for the 6.8 Remington SPC will be coming soon. The A2 looks intimidating, but the .223 caliber sucks.
