Like, when you've finished frying chicken, fish, french fries or whatever -- what's the most environmental way to dispose of the oil?

  1. mix it with oats or corn meal and feed it to the birds.

  2. Use it for making soot cakes to be put out in the winter months for birds. I keep an empty coffee can for it when it gets about half full I add a little bird feed, fruit pellings, and such just form it into cakes or balls and put it in your soot feeder it'll be gone in no time.

  3. its not hazardous waste and don't poor it down the drain it can and will make a mess of your plumbing.Contact a local restaurant and ask what they do with there old oil/grease they may let you dispose of it with there old oil/grease many places get paid for the oil/grease and therefore they wont mind if you give them some. Also look in the yellow pages for a BIO DIESEL plant and see if they will take your stuff

  4. your waste management company can answer that, they will provide you with a container for your car oil so why not one for your cooking oil.Or just take it to your local hazardous waste facility call first and they will advise.

  5. It is not a hazardous material. You COULD eat it, but yuk, it is just all fat! Or you could pour it into empty jars, put the covers on and put them in the trash. Or you could make bio diesel from it. Or give it to someone else who is making bio diesel. I have poured it down the drain too, but be sure to run lots of hot water if you do or you might clog the drain.
