What's the pros and cons for the burton snowboarding elevators?

what do u think if u have had experience with the elevators?

  1. Pros:

    If you have big feet, and ride a narrow board, and are experiencing toe/heel drag, then this eliminates it by raising your boots further off the ground, giving more clearance between your feet and the snow.

    Cons:

    They look really awkward, they feel very awkward, and you get the feeling that you lose a little bit of edge control. Now whether that feeling is real or imagined is up for debate, but I certainly felt like I lost some edge control.

    Also, if you KNOW you have big feet, you'll probably be looking at a wide board anyways, thus eliminating the need for these.

    My thoughts:

    If you're thinking about getting these, and you are a HARDCORE everyday snowboarder, get a wider board.

    If you're the occassional twice/three times a month-er getting these would save you the $$ on a bigger board.
