Watching Peking 2008 games of the Netherlands and others I got hooked on this game. Does the water speed up the sliding of the ball or is it just the opposite: slow down the ball speed? (It seems they don't use a puck.)

And how wet is it in %: is there a drainage system beneath the artificial grass ground, esp. when it starts to rain?

  1. .......

  2. water astro pitch i take it? It speeds up the movement of the ball and yes there is a drainage system but if it rains usually become too much and the pitch floods so the match has to be abandoned. It is basically the same as a sand based pitch only the ball moves faster and is more expensive, also slippier. Its call  a hockey ball! very heavy and sore when you get smacked with it
