  1. The fastest way is  to drive to Nanimo (Duke Point) and take the ferry to Tsawwasen, then cross the border at Blaine (or a bit east at Aldergrove where the waits tend to be shorter). Then I-5 to Seattle. At its fastest it takes the better part of a day. Remember to make a ferry reservation or you may have to wait.

  2. Glad you asked. I live near Campbell River and have been thinking of going to Seattle but hadn't done any research.

Here is what I came up with. I'm including wait times of half an hour for each ferry, though if what the previous poster says about having to be at the ferry 1.5 hours early for immigration procedures at the Coho ferry is correct, add that to the US ferry times. The 176 St crossing doesn't usually have much of a wait.

    Campbell River-Nanaimo...2 hrs

    Nanaimo-Horseshoe Bay...2 hrs

Horseshoe Bay to 176 St border crossing...1 hr

    176 St to Seattle...3 hours

Total 8 hours, provided you hit Vancouver freeway traffic sometime between 9 am and 2:30 pm, or after 6:30 pm. Any other time, all bets are off.

Campbell River to Coho Ferry, downtown Victoria....4 hrs

    Victoria to Port Angeles....1.5 hrs

Port Angeles to Seattle....2.5 hours, and includes another ferry

Total 8 hours plus immigration and possible second ferry wait

Campbell River to Sidney...4 hours, maybe a bit more.

    Sidney to Anacortes...2 hours

    Anacortes to Seattle...1.5 hours

Total  7.5 hours, plus immigration waits

The ferries from Victoria and Sidney have relatively few sailings, you might want to take that into account. All things considered, I think I would go through Vancouver.

edit: Duke Point. Duh! Why didn't I think of that? Good answer. That would be faster than all the other routes. Give that guy best answer.

  3. Drive to BC Ferries at Duke Point.  Take the ferry to Tsawwassen.  After you get off the ferry in Tsawwassen you will be on Highway 17.  Stay on Highway 17 until it merges with Highway 99 and then take highway 99 south to the US border.  Once you pass through the border you will be on Interstate 5 which will take you right to Seattle.

  4. Drive to Victoria and put your car in line at the Coho Ferry Dock.

US Immigration procedures will be 90 minutes prior to Ferry departure for Port Angeles. From Port Angeles drive to Kingston via the Hood Canal Bridge and take the Ferry to Edmonds.

    From Edmonds drove to Seattle.
