What's the real reason for school?

To put you in rooms with others your age, without your mamas.

You should learn to get along, (at least with a few others.)!

You really get educated in your own home, and in your own neighborhoods!

It is directly related to money, riches.

It is like when you get an A on a test and the others don't.

You can shove it in their face and make fun of them.

School is a learning process, not only for the education you need in your adult life and the career you pursue, but also in social skills, so you can interact with others, it's an extention of your learning manners and eitquette from what you already (suposedly) learned from your parents or guardians.  It is a time for children to separate from family for a bit, to learn how to grow to be an independant, well-rounded, educated adult.  It is a time to start learning responsibilities as well as a time to have fun.  School is so many things. It is not just reading writing and arithmatic any more.  School is as much or as little as you make it to be.  Take advantage of all you can.

if your population is dumb, your country will begin to suck... so they force school till you're an adult since they don't want a crappy country... college I believe exists for two reasons. a) the small percentage of people who wish to become experts in a field will pursue a career in their major and b) the rest of the people whose jobs have nothing to do with their major will have simply gone through a very expensive and long hazing...i.e. employers just want to make sure you've "paid your dues"

This is a good question, education is lacking from this country, as in most countries.  But in this country people have got is cushioned for them, state ed etc. But education is underperforming and probably the basis for why the country is underperforming.  The need for education is for the country to make progress, it isn't because there is a lack of education.
