(Variations on a Theme) the Martian Frontier

Yes we're gonna have a blowout

An autumn space shuttle outbound

It's just a ship that my friends built

In case the rest of society goes underground

We've got computers and lots of drives

The focus is creativity on the new frontier

Introduce me to that bearded dude

He's got a touch of Robert Zimmerman

He's quoting poetry with a new twist

He's got our attention and he can tell

He craves to speak, that much is clear

He's got excellent meter for the new frontier

Well I can't wait until I move to the Mars

I've finally make up my mind

I'll be studying my poetry on Martian seas

Do you know of the great writers

Cause dude I've got my eyes on you

I hear you're mad about TD Euwaite

I like your words, I like his too

He's an poet, a pioneer

We've got to have some poetry on the new frontier

Well I can't wait until I move to the Mars

I've finally make up my mind

To write and study poetry on the Martian seas

Let's pretend that it's the real thing

Let's write poetry all night long

And when I'm done working with you

We'll open up the doors and climb into the stars

Confess your passions have no fear

Prepare to meet the challenge of the new frontier

  1. Every night I go to Mars,

Up in the sky among the stars.

    I listen as verses emote,

    Silent poets, none will gloat.

Join me there with all the rest,

In all creation, they're the best.

When I awake I wish to say,

Up here on Mars, please let me stay.

  2. The journey is long. It takes work and courage.

  3. To get to Mars,

    turn right at Strange

    and then left onto Absurd...

  4. Quite a poetic manifesto! Must definitely be read out loud.
