  2. The 1930 Philadelphia Phillies allowed an astounding 1199 runs for the all-time record. The AL record is held by the 1996 Detroit Tigers, they allowed 1103. So if you are a Rangers fan and worried about breaking it rest easy, it would take a herculean effort to get there. But a few more games allowing 19 runs hmmmm.....These are the modern mlb records. After 1901. Pirates did give up all those runs in 1890.Although I can't find a source for the stats for the 1899 Cleveland Spiders They were bad enough that I can believe they allowed that many runs. My original post was just regarding the modern era. If you can tell me where you found their runs allowed total I'd like to see it. Thanks
